FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much are your puppies?

Our puppies range from $2,800-$3,000 depending on the litter.

How do I get a puppy from your program?

The first step is to complete our puppy applicationThe information you have provided in your application helps us get a solid idea of what exactly you are looking for in your new puppy! From that information we are also able to decide what breeding pair/litter may be better suited for your desires. After you have submitted your application, you will receive a follow up email stating whether you have been approved or denied (this can take up to 7 days). Once your application has been approved, you will be added to our general or litter specific waitlist.

When is payment for my puppy due?

When a planned breeding is announced, we start taking names for those interested in that specific breeding pair. Once pregnancy has been confirmed via ultrasound, we will select 6 names from the top of that list to be moved to our potential homes list. Those that have been selected are required to pay a non-refundable $50 fee to lock their spot in that litter.

We have the right to refuse the sale of a puppy any buyer, at any time, and for any reason. If for any reason we refuse to sell a puppy to you after payment has already been made, we will issue a full refund, minus the non-refundable holding fee.

What is the difference between "limited" and "full" AKC registration?

Limited AKC registration means that the dog is registered but no litters produced by that dog are eligible for registration.

Full AKC
registration gives the new owner breedings rights of the dog.

Are your puppies sold with breeding rights?

We do NOT sell our puppies with breeding rights. All of our puppies are sent home on limited AKC registration. Full AKC registration may be granted for no additional cost once your puppy has received passing hip, elbow, and spine scores, is DM tested, and has earned at least one working and show title. Acceptable working titles are as follows: IGP; BH and above, PSA; PDC and above, AS; AS1 and above, SAR certification, and HGH herding titles.

Do you offer a health warranty?

Absolutely! As a preservation breeder, the health of our puppies is our top priority. Your puppy is guaranteed to be free of genetic hip and elbow dysplasia up to 25 months of age. At your expense, the puppy must be hip and elbow x-rayed by a licensed veterinarian that is experienced in OFA and/or SV positioning and submission. The x-ray images must be sent to us via email prior to submission to OFA and/or SV, to ensure that the positioning is appropriate for a fair scoring. Should the puppy receive a genetically failing hip or elbow score, we will issue you a refund of $1,500. Proper nutrition and environmental factors play just as much of a role in canine joint development as genetics do. A proper diet consists of a quality professional dog food or balanced raw food diet with appropriate supplements. If it has been found that your puppy has undergone a harsh exercise before 15 months of age, sustained any injuries that could affect conformation of the hip and elbow joints, was fed an improper-poor diet, or has been found in improper-poor body condition, refunds or compensation will be at the sole discretion of Vom Bayale upon evaluating the x-ray images in question.

Are owners required to spay/neuter their puppy?

Although we do not sell our puppies with breeding rights, we strongly recommend that you keep your puppy, especially a male, intact unless there is a compelling health issue requiring a spay/neuter. If  you choose to spay/neuter your puppy, we advise that you wait until they have reached 25 months of age. This ensures that the puppy's growth plates have closed, and that they have emotionally transitioned out of puppyhood and into young adulthood. Please be aware that fixing your puppy does NOT calm them down or eliminate any aggressive behavior. Should you choose to have your puppy fixed before 25 months of age, the health guarantee is void.

Do you health test your dogs?

Yes! All of my personal breeding dogs undergo extensive health testing; They are SV, OFA, or FCI rated with passing hips, elbows, and spine. Every dog is also tested for DM, MDR1, Pituitary Dwarfism, and various other genetic health diseases using Embark Vet, as well as have screenings done for the following: OFA eyes, cardiac, thyroid, patellas, and dentition. All proof of health testing can be found under the "More"-"Health Clearances" tab.

Do I get to choose my puppy's registered name?

No. The registered name is chosen by us... As for their "call name", you may choose whatever you'd like!

How do I know my puppy is in good health at the time of go-home?

All puppies leave our possession free of parasites, with a negative fecal exam, their first round of vaccinations (DA2PPV), first round of heart worm preventative (Heartgard Plus), first 4 rounds of dewormer (x3 Pyrantel, x1 Safeguard), a health certificate provided by a licensed veterinarian stating the puppy is in good health, up to date health records, the results of their Embark Vet panel, and any additional testing done.
